About us:
Matej Bel University in Banska Bystrica is a public university, and in 2010 defended the status of the university. It is a member of the European University Association. It provides quality higher education and training according to the needs of science and practice of developing new knowledge and creative scientific and artistic exploration. The university offers a classic range of learning opportunities in all three levels and forms of study in educational, social, economic, legal, political, humanitarian and science in the fields of international relations, economic courses in mathematics and English-speaking and made partly Francophone studies. UMB developed joint study programs and contacts with leading foreign universities, where students have the opportunity to complete part of their studies. Therefore UMB graduates are well used not only at home but also abroad. In addition to educational, scientific and artistic activities are an important part of the creative activities of UMB as basic and applied research in cooperation with domestic and foreign institutions. It has an excellent research centre, addressing the scientific and development projects of the European Structural Funds. Lifelong learning courses are available in various forms from the Children's University to the University of the Third Age. In their free time, students can attend a variety of social activities such as sports clubs, art files and student organizations at UMB.
