Louise Killeen set up LKT in 2004 in response to market demand for increased capacity and a wider range of services, as well as to offer newcomers to the translation profession a vital first step on the career ladder. LKT’s “Translator Academy”, which provides training, coaching, and mentoring to language professionals at every stage of their careers, is unique within the industry and has gained the company a well-deserved reputation for quality and professionalism.

Based in the UK, LKT is a single-language vendor specialising in translation from German into English and exports its services to Austria, Germany and Switzerland as well as serving customers in the UK.

LKT is certified to ISO 17100:2015 and ISO 9001 and its achievements have been recognised with multiple awards both within and beyond the language services industry. The company is a member of the ATC, a corporate member of the ITI and a business and corporate partner of the CIOL. 

The LKT in-house team are all qualified members of the UK’s Institute of Translation and Interpreting (MITI) and chartered members of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (MCIL CL). Louise is a qualified member of the ITI (MITI) and represents corporate members on its Professional Development Committee. She was appointed a Fellow of the CIOL (FCIL CL) in 2021.
